About us
WHO WE ARE
We are thrilled to offer Sarasota and its neighboring counties a medical practice that provides compassionate personalized medical care to patients of all ages.
Our goal is to ensure our patients achieve their optimal health by practicing evidence based medicine, which allows our patients to receive the most up to date medical care.
In our practice we strive to treat the person rather than just the disease. We strongly focus on preventative care as well as being available for same day appointments for acute medical conditions.
Being a small independently run practice we value the relationships we build with our patients. We look forward to meeting and collaborating with each patient to develop an individualized medical care plan.

Achilles Kalnoky
Dr. Achilles Kalnoky was born in Prague, Czech Republic to a Greek mother and Hungarian father and when he was young his family emigrated to the United States settling in New Jersey. His love of travel and adventure brought him back to Prague after high school for medical school. Upon completion of his medical studies, he worked in the United Kingdom and later returned to the U.S. to complete a residency in Family Medicine at Central Michigan University in Saginaw, Michigan. Spending three long winters in Michigan convinced Dr. Kalnoky to join his parents in sunny Florida after graduation. But he did take one last detour, working as a family doctor in New Zealand before finally settling in Sarasota in 2013.
Before opening Gulf Gate Family Medicine in 2016, Dr. Kalnoky worked locally for a clinic for the uninsured and then as an Urgent Care Physician at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Dr. Kalnoky is Board Certified in Family Medicine as well as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Florida State University Medical School.
He lives with his wife Farah, a Physician Assistant, and their three young children. In his spare time, he enjoys beautiful Florida beaches, travel, biking, tennis, kayaking, and scuba diving. He is also a violinist with the Tampa Symphony performing with the orchestra throughout the year.
